Smartphones In Bedrooms May Cause Kids To Get Less Sleep
A new study found that kids who had small screen devices like smartphones in their bedrooms got, on average, 20.6 fewer minutes of sleep than those who didn't. In addition, kids with TVs in their rooms got about 18 minutes less sleep.
Class discussion: Is it any surprise that access to smartphones and tablet computers cuts into sleep? How much time do you spend on these devices? Are they more interesting than television? Would you mind if you couldn't have any smartphone, computer or television screens in your bedroom? Do you think these screens also could affect your parents' sleep?
