The mission of Media In Education (MIE) is to support literacy efforts and increased access to web-based learning. Services include school newspapers, teacher resources and funding for classroom technology.
Tech Grant Program
MIE encourages the daily practice of web-based learning and provides funding for classroom technology. Technology grants will be awarded to eligible teachers with students most at risk of failing to meet State standards.
We thank our many generous readers who support Arizona students through Vacation Donation and subscriber billing donations. These dollars help provide school newspapers, teacher resources and funding for classroom technology. Your gifts directly benefit our state's young learners and their teachers.
- Be a certified teacher at a public elementary or secondary school in Arizona (including charter schools), who has not received an MIE Tech Grant in the past five years.
- Teach in a school that has a minimum of 65% of its students in a free or reduced lunch program. Click here to access free/reduced lunch reports for Arizona schools. Use the most recent report to find your school's percentage.
- Explain how the money will be used and why it will increase student access to and use of online news sources and web-based learning opportunities. Please be specific. Preference will be given to projects that include news gathering and reporting, student publishing, and classroom activities that place an emphasis upon current events and journalism.
- Explain how funding for your classroom project will increase student achievement.
