Study declares 'Freshman 15' a myth
A new study from Ohio State University and University of Michigan-Dearborn discovered that most college students don't gain the dreaded "Freshman 15," but they put on an average of about three pounds in their first year of school. That is about the same as people that age who don't go to college.
Class discussion: Do students worry too much about their weight, or not enough? There are many health problems associated with obesity. But, what are the health problems of becoming obsessed with staying slim? Is getting heavier an inevitable part of getting older, or is that a myth, too? What is the best way to reach and maintain a healthy weight?
