Scrabble purists a-n-g-r-y over new version of the classic board game
Mattel recently announced the planned release of Scrabble Trickster, a version of the classic board game with relaxed rules, much to the ire of Scrabble purists.
Class discussion: The board game version of Scrabble may not be selling well according to this report, but young users seem to still love the game. A knock-off online version called Scrabulous quickly becoming the most popular game on Facebook when it was introduced as an application in 2007, until it was removed in 2008 for copyright infringement. Its reincarnation as Lexulous currently has 400,795 monthly active users.
