Activities:

1. Use newspaper words and pictures to create a “Sleepy Time” poster. List suggestions for sleeping well on your poster.

2. In newspaper ads, select five items that would help you go to sleep. Explain your choices.

3. In your newspaper, put X’s over items that interfere with good sleep.

4. How are these important to sleep: (a) REM sleep, (b) internal clock, (c) age and (d) routine?

5. Monitor your sleep habits. For one week, record the times you go to bed and wake up. Record what you do for an hour before you go to bed. What patterns do you see?

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them.

This week's standard:
Students understand relationships between personal health behaviors and individual well-being. (Heath Promotion and Disease Prevention)

(standards by Dr. Sherrye D. Garrett, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi)
