Activities:

1. Make a “Thank You, Postal Inspectors” poster. Use newspaper words and pictures to show how postal inspectors make our lives better.

2. Find three people in the newspaper who could help postal inspectors keep the mail safe and crime-free. Explain your choices.

3. In your newspaper, circle items that postal inspectors might use to keep mail safe.

4. How are these important to postal inspectors: (a) scams, (b) hazardous packages, (c) temporary post offices and (d) natural disasters?

5. Write several paragraphs showing how postal inspectors are similar to police officers and how they are different in fighting crime.

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them.

This week's standard:
Students understand that a responsibility of the national government is to keep people safe. (Civics: Role of Government)

(standards by Dr. Sherrye D. Garrett, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi)
