2. In your newspaper, circle pictures of Christmas decorations. Put a check by your favorites.

3. Select three comic strip characters. Describe a Christmas tree that would reflect each character’s personality.

4. How did the following celebrate Christmas in the White House: (a) Theodore Roosevelt, (b) Franklin Roosevelt, (c) Jacqueline Kennedy and (d) Richard Nixon?

5. Make a “Merry Christmas” brochure showing special holiday events, concerts and parades in your community. Use your newspaper to locate the information for your brochure.

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them.

This week's standard:
Students understand customs and traditions of their own culture. (Social Studies: Culture)
