Activities:

1. Make gray wolf trading cards. Paste or draw pictures of wolves on one side of a card. On the other side, write a fact about gray wolves.

2. With a friend, circle words in your newspaper that describe wolves. Who found the most words?

3. Collect newspaper pictures of mammals. Paste herbivores on one piece of paper. Paste carnivores on another piece.

4. How are these important to gray wolves: (a) Yellowstone, (b) howling, (c) packs and (d) diversity?

5. Write a story about a week in the life of a young gray wolf from the point of view of the wolf.

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them.

This week's standard:
Students understand the interactions of animals and their environments. (Science: Life Science)

(standards by Dr. Sherrye D. Garrett, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi)
