Activities:

1. Make a “Helping Others” poster: Paste newspaper pictures and words of items Jane Addams could use if she were creating Hull - House today.

2. In the newspaper, circle stories about local, national or international groups that help people with food, housing, heath care or finances. How are they reflecting Jane Addams’ ideas and values?

3. Make an information al brochure about Jane Addams. Fold a piece of paper into thirds to make the brochure. Make a tit le page on one folded section. On the other sections, draw pictures of Jane Ad dams’ activities. Write a sentence for each picture. Share your brochure with friends.

4. What do these tell you about Jane Ad dams: (a) World War I, (b) Hull - House, (c) London and (d) Young Heroes Club?

5. Research Nobel Peace Prize recipients. Select three winners who were cited for their work with people who needed help with food, housing, education, justice and finances. Write a description of each of the recipients.
