1. Make a large “Thank You” poster for your teacher. Draw a picture of your teacher on the poster. Paste newspaper words that describe your teacher and show how you feel about your teacher around the picture.

2. In the newspaper, circle snack or treat ideas you would like for a thank - you party for your teacher.

3. Interview your teacher to find out why he or she wanted to teach. Write down what your teacher says. Put quotes from your teacher’s comments on pieces of paper and post them around your classroom.

4. Pretend you make money from a fundraiser for your classroom. Find items in the newspaper that you would get for your teacher for (a) art supplies, (b) writing sup plies, (c) bulletin board ideas and (d) math and science.

5. Pick a news story about your community. Turn the story into a play, with parts and dialogue , that you could perform for your teacher. Share your play with your teacher.

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them.

This week's standard:
Students demonstrate respectful and caring relationships in the family, workplace and community. (Family and Consumer Science: Interpersonal Relationships )
