Newspapers In Education is a national program that promotes literacy through the use of the daily newspaper as an instructional aid in the classroom. The Marshall News Messenger partners with educators and local businesses to encourage literacy, to broaden students' community and global perspectives and to equip area teachers with a powerful tool for teaching at no cost to the teachers or schools.

Trees for Wildlife provides adult leaders with fun, hands-on science-based activities to help young people learn about the importance of trees and how to plant and take care of trees for the future.
Applications for Spring 2014 will be accepted until February 21, 2014.
