Is seeing believing?
A British television documentary on arms sales by Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi to the Irish Republican Army featured dramatic video of masked men shooting down a helicopter. But, the ITV footage actually came from a video game. A post on PC Gamer speculated that the footage may have originated from this YouTube video of the game that was mislabeled as IRA footage from 1988.■Class discussion: Have you ever been fooled by something you found on the internet? Can you find examples of faked photos or videos? How about false news reports? How can you be sure that what you read or see is reliable?
