Fighting cancer with fried chicken
One of America's largest chicken chains is going pink. KFC is trying to raise $8.4 million for the Susan G. Koman for the Cure Foundation with pink buckets of chicken. But there's disagreement over the message this sends.■Class discussion: Is the campaign promoting unhealthy choices? Or is KFC just trying to do some good? What if the sponsor were a cigarette manufacturer, donating a dollar for each carton of cigarettes to lung cancer research? Do pink campaigns persuade you to buy products that support cancer research over other products that don't?
