Newspaper criticized for doctoring photograph
A newspaper photograph showing the Egyptian President at the front of a group of world leaders including Barack Obama was exposed last week as a fake. The newspaper, Al-Ahram, the largest-circulation newspaper in Egypt, defended the photo as "expressionist."■Class discussion: If your newspaper was shown to have run a faked photograph, what would your reaction be? How does it affect a newspaper's credibility? Al-Ahram is a government-run newspaper. Would that change your expectatons of how a newspaper handles "news"?
