The Cricket in Times Square is the selection for One Book One Community

Children will take a walk with the animals in the pages of The Cricket in Times Square, the Orlando Sentinel's 2008 selection for its annual One Book One Community campaign.

The six-week program will run from April 6 through May 18.

The literacy program encourages Central Florida children - and the adults in their lives - to read the same book.

This year two contests are offered to encourage participation.

Changes to Brainiac Zone (Kid Scoop) and World of Wonder Activity Ads

Effective January 7, 2008, the NIE Brainiac Zone (Kid Scoop) and World of Wonder activity ads that appear in the newspaper on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week will no longer be published in the paper. A downloadable edition of both of these activity ads will be available on the homepage of the NIE website. In addition, you will also have access to archived activity ads. Posting the activity ads online will increase the accessibility of these ads to our readers.

If you have any questions concerning these changes, please contact Heila Thomas at hcthomas@orlandosentinel.com.
