What's happening with the NIE Digital Edition?

We are changing over to a new display system designed to enhance your experience using the NIE Digital Edition. The new system includes advanced display technologies that provide improved functionality and readability for our digital edition newspapers.

Why did the NIE Digital Edition change?

We've changed the NIE Digital Edition display to improve your experience viewing the printed newspaper online. In addition to the standard features that were in the older system, the new display system offers Google translation capability in 200+ languages as well as real-time breaking news.

How will I access the new NIE Digital Edition?

We will be sending you an email daily notification with an NIE URL that looks something like this:

Simply click on the link. You are also welcome to set up a shortcut to this URL on your classroom computers used to access the digital edition. To do so, copy the NIE URL and then right-click on an open space on your desktop. Scroll down to New, then Shortcut and paste the URL into the blank space. Then click Next, then name the shortcut and then click Finish.

I can't find my login? What happened to it?

We've removed the login area from the NIE web site because accessing the NIE Digital Edition is extremely easy. Just type in the NIE URL at your Internet Address bar or click on a desktop URL shortcut to get access.

I was trying to create a bookmark. What do I need to do?

All you need to do is type the NIE URL into your web browser's Internet address location bar then create your bookmark.

I've created a bookmark and still not able to view the e-edition? What's wrong?

You may be typing in the wrong NIE URL. Be sure the URL configuration you are trying to bookmark looks similar to this:

I have many computers in my classroom. May I use this URL?

Yes. You are welcome to distribute the URL provided to you to be used within your classroom computers. All you need to do is to create a desktop shortcut with the URL on each classroom computer used to view the NIE E-Edition.

Do I need Adobe Flash?

Yes. In order to view the new NIE E-Edition, your web browser will need to have installed the latest Adobe Flash plug-in. Our new display technology uses Adobe Flash. To have Adobe Flash installed on your computer, please contact your School's Information Technology Department to have your computer classroom environment upgraded.

I am not getting my daily email notifications, what do I do?

Your daily email notifications from us might be detected thru your school's email system. These emails might be flagged as junk e-mail or marketing mail. You'll need to work with your school IT Department as to indicate that these email daily notifications are not considered to be marketing mail.

If you are using web-based mail services for your daily email notifications such Yahoo!, HotMail, or Gmail, you'll need to view your Junk Mail folders.

I don't want to receive the daily email notifications. Can I get off this list?

Yes. Look for one of the daily email notifications in your Inbox. To discontinue the email notifications, you need to "unsubscribe" from our notification service by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. Please make sure that you have created your desktop shortcuts or saved the URL to your favorites before you unsubscribe.
