DIGITAL EDITION FAQ's

Q: How will my students turn the pages of an electronic paper appearing on a computer?

A: The Digital Edition allows this capability just as though your students were physically turning the pages of a print version.

Q: Can I get the digital version on days that I choose, or do I have to take it every day?

A: At this time, you must order the Digital Edition each day, Sunday through Friday, a minimum of 10 per day (maximum is your total number of students).

Q: How many copies can I order?

A: We will purchase a "license" to read the Digital Edition for the number you specify, usually one per student. You cannot order more Digital Editions than you have students. E.g., if you have 30 students you may order up to 30 Digital Editions. Compare this to receiving hard copies of the newspaper. If receiving hard copies, how many newspapers would you like to have?

Q: What are the advantages of the Digital Edition?

A: There are several. First, you don't have to locate, lift, carry, recycle or dispose of daily bundles of the paper. Second, online access is familiar to your students. Much more information will be available to you and you can project images/articles on your projector or smart board to your students, as well as access the Digital Edition from multiple computer locations.

Q: How do you define "entire paper"? Does that include advertisements? What about advertising inserts?

A: The Digital Edition paper is an exact replica of the newspaper, but advertising inserts will not be included with the Digital Edition paper.

Q: What do you mean by "in" your email box? Are you e-mailing the actual paper or a link to a website?

A: The actual paper will not be emailed to you. You will receive a link to a website in the email, Which will allow you to access the Digital Edition.

Q: What is the typical file size of the Digital Edition e-mail?

A: The size of the email is quite small and it will not clog your inbox, 14KB.

Minimum Number of Copies: 10 minimum daily electronic copies Sunday through Friday, up to the total number of students you teach. You cannot order more Digital Editions than you have students. e.g., if you have 30 students you may order up to 30 Digital Editions.

Q: How does this work? Do you need the e-mail addresses of the students? If so, does each student need to sign any kind of usage agreement?

A: No, we do not need the email addresses of the students. The students will not be required to sign a usage agreement. For each teacher and student to access the paper, all they have to do is click on the website URL provided in the daily email blast. They may access the link from the daily email, create a shortcut on their desktop or save it as a bookmark on each computer.

The email has nothing to do with access. It is just a daily reminder to drive teachers to the specified website. There is no username or password needed to login. All you have to do is click on the link.

Teachers may be asked to return an affidavit at the end of the program, acknowledging that they received the electronic editions. Please note, this is for our internal tracking purposes and is at no cost to you.

Q: We work with a transient student population and our number of students is always in flux. It is difficult to predict how many sick or injured students a teacher may be teaching at any particular time.
  • A particular class may have 10 students one week, but could increase to 15 or even drop to 5 the next week.
  • How would you suggest we handle the class size issue?
  • A: Just contact us as your needs change and we will adjust the number of licenses for your class.

Q: Does each paper come in its own email?

A: The actual paper will not be emailed to you. You will receive a link to a website in the email, which will allow you to access the Digital Edition.

Q: Can a page be read more than once or do pages disappear once the page is turned?

A: Yes, a page can be read more than once. The pages will not disappear once the page is turned. You can always go back.

Q: Will I receive the paper in my inbox each morning?

A: The actual paper will not be emailed to you. You will receive a link to a website in the email, which will allow you to access the Digital Edition.

Q: You say you are providing us with copies for all our students. How are we going to get the copy in our inbox to each student?

A: The email has nothing to do with access. It is just a daily reminder to drive teachers to click on the URL in order to access the Digital Edition. For each teacher or student to access the paper, simply click on the link provided in the email, save as a shortcut on your desktop or bookmark it. You can then access your subscription of the Digital Edition anytime you'd like.
