Proposal would penalize movies showing actors smoking with an R-rating
If the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has its way, any future movie that shows an actor smoking will automatically get an R-rating.
■Class discussion: What was the last movie you remember seeing a character lighting up? Do you think it's more or less prelavent today to see characters smoking on screen? Is this a valid way to discourage smoking?
