Activities:

1. Draw a picture of a mot her giraffe and a baby giraffe. Make a border for your picture from newspaper words that describe giraffes.

2. Form a group to take to Africa to work to save the giraffes. Pick five people from the newspaper to include in your group. Explain your choices.

3. How are these related to African giraffes: (a) poaching, (b) giraffe’s eyesight, (c) nursery herd and (d) conservation groups?

4. Use today’s Mini Page and the Internet to make a list of things that are endangering giraffes . Next to each item, write an explanation of what could be done to prevent those things from harming giraffes.

5. Design a three - panel brochure encouraging people to help save the giraffes. Include facts from today’s Mini Page and facts from the Internet.
