Activities:
1. Draw a lar ge teacup on a piece of paper. Paste newspaper words and pictures that illustrate something about tea around your teacup.
2. Conduct a survey about tea drinking among your friends and family members. Ask them what kind of tea they drink – how many different kinds or flavors. What is their favorite tea drink? What common preferences did you find?
3. In the newspaper, circle any ads – for stores or restaurants – that feature tea. What kinds of tea were advertised?
4. How are these important to your understanding of tea: (a) the Tea Act, (b) British East India Tea Company, (c) Shang dynasty and (d) tea ceremony?
5. Use the Internet to find different ways tea can be used in cooking. Then design a meal that uses some tea - related food for each course: entrée, side dish, dessert and drink.
