Activities:

1. Draw a spider on a piece of paper. Paste newspapers words that tell about spiders on your drawing.

2. In the newspaper, circle names or pictures of spiders. Don’t forget sports teams or the spiders in ads for Halloween.

3. Divide a piece of paper into two columns. On one side, write good things spiders do. On the other, write the ways spiders can be harmful.

4. How are these things important to spiders: (a) venom, (b) spinnerets, (c) prey and (d) fangs?

5. Learn more about spiders you might find in your community. Use the Internet or books to learn about spiders t hat are common where you live. Pick three spiders. Write paragraphs that describe e ach spider. Include any positive or harmful aspects of each spider.
