Bonn served as the capital of West Germany while the nation and Berlin were divided after WWII.
D. After being devastated in WWII, Germany was rebuilt and its economy has surpassed all the European nations that defeated it. Japan, also defeated in WWII, ranks fourth in exports.
C. According to a U.S. Census Bureau survey, 14.7 percent of Americans have German ancestry. That is the largest group and is followed by African, Mexican, Irish and English.
