Space bubbles' offer safety at NYC restaurant
Plastic bubbles were set up on the sidewalk next to Café du Soleil in New York City to protect customers from the spread of COVID-19 and shelter diners from cold and rain. To keep outdoor patrons warm through the autumn and winter months, the city will allow restaurants to use certain heaters and enclosed tents. City restaurants will also be able to reopen for indoor dining at 25% capacity under the latest rules to control the pandemic.
■Class discussion: Would you like to dine in a bubble? When it comes to the coronavirus, is it safer to eat outside or inside? What about other activities like concerts or watching films? New York City was the hit hardest by the pandemic, and it has slowly eased restrictions as infections and deaths have dropped way down. How are other cities and states handling increases in cases? What is happening in your area? Are you taking more or less precautions than you did earlier?
