Activities:
1. Write M-A-N-D-E-L-A down the side of a piece of paper. Paste newspaper words that start with the letters and describe Nelson Mandela next to each letter.
2. Find five people in the newspaper you would invite to a party for Mandela. Explain your choices.
3. Find three people in the newspaper who are good leaders. Explain why you chose them.
4. How did these influence Mandela’s life: (a) Jongintaba, (b) Afrikaners, (c) apartheid and (d) Fredrik Willem de Klerk?
5. Find a problem in today’s newspaper that would interest Mandela. Write about why it would interest him. How would he solve the problem?
