Activities:

1. Choose one book from today’s Mini Page. Write the title on a poster. Paste newspaper words and pictures about that story on your poster.

2. Choose books to recommend to three of your friends. Explain your choices.

3. Select three newspaper stories that would be good subjects for children’s books. Make a title for each one.

4. Which books in today’s Mini Page are about: (a) actual people, (b) fantasy characters, (c) families and (d) the arts?

5. Write a paragraph comparing Kwame Alexander and Dan Santat. How were their lives alike? How were they different?
