Activities:
1. Draw a picture of yourself with gardening tools. Paste newspaper words and pictures for food and flower plants that you would like to grow around your picture.
2. In the newspaper, circle words and pictures of the different tools to plant and take care of a n outside garden. With a different color, circle pictures of kinds of containers you could use for planting if you don’t have an outside space.
3. In the newspaper, find a recipe or a picture of a dish that uses at least three things you could grow.
4. Which plants (a) need full sunlight, (b) need some shade, (c ) can be planted close together and (d) must be planted far apart?
5. Plan a gardening project for your family. Write answer questions for your plan: (1) in the ground or in containers, (2) produce or flowers, (3) in sun or shade, (4) t he tools you’ll need, and (5) who will do what job?
