Teachers, Librarians: You can host a Herblock cartoon exhibit at your school

Four exhibitions have been created to teach people about Herblock and his remarkable career. These panel exhibitions can be used for teaching or promoting the American topics that Herblock was so passionate about — Education, Democracy, Civil Rights and the Presidency. Together all four present a fascinating history of Herblock’s political cartoons.

The four panel exhibitions are available for the shipping fee only – no rental fee is required. The exhibitions come in shipping cases that are easy to move, store and set up. The exhibitions can be displayed in classrooms, lobbies or exhibit spaces.

A seven minute DVD Herblock: The Man Behind the Cartoons is available with each of the exhibitions, giving a brief biography of Herblock.

Illustrated brochures accompany each exhibition and are available to give out free to visitors to the exhibitions. A brochure holder is included in the display set up.

Stop laughing, this is serious

How far do Toons reach? The cartoon Australians consider the best and most famous in the world features two workmen hanging in the air from a steel girder, one by the pants of the other, pulling them down. The caption words, "For gorsake, stop laughing, this is serious," have since become a byword in Australian culture. See the cartoon and read more about it at Witty World
