Activities:
1. Design a trophy to honor Team Hoyt. Paste newspaper words that describe Team Hoyt on the trophy.
2. In the newspaper, circle four people who have traits that you admire. Write the traits next to each headline. How are these traits and attitudes similar to those of Rick Hoyt and his family?
3. Find five pieces of equipment in the newspaper that would help you prepare to be part of Team Hoyt. Explain your choices.
4. How are these important to Team Hoyt: (a) the Hoyts ' motto, (b) the word “Team” in Team Hoyt, (c) Boston University and (d) Ironman competitions ?
5. Collect newspaper stories about people with disabilities who are following their dreams. How many areas are represented (arts, academics, sports, etc.)? Write a paragraph describing what all these people have in common.
