January 24, 2018 : Say Hello to South Korea

Activities:

1. Create a menu for a Korean restaurant. Look in newspaper ads for stores and restaurants for words and pictures of foods used in Korean cooking. Paste the pictures and words on your menu.

2. Choose a place you’d like to visit in South Korea . In the newspaper, circle words and pictures of clothing and equipment you would take on your trip.

3. Collect news stories about South Korea. Make a fact page about South Korea with information from the stories. Divide a piece of paper into four areas. Label your areas: People, Place, Events and History . Write your facts in the appropriate box.

4. How are these important to South Korea: (a) Seoul, (b ) chopsticks, (c) Olympic Games and (d) education?

5. Research information about the governments and lifestyles of people in North and South Korea. Write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the two Koreas.
