Comey: Russian meddling still a threat
During former FBI Director James Comey's testimony to the Senate intelligence committee, he emphasized the threat Russia poses to the U.S. "The Russians interfered in our election during the 2016 cycle.” Comey said. “They did it with purpose. They did it with sophistication. They did it with overwhelming technical efforts. . . . I's a long-term practice of theirs. . . . They'll be back."
■Class discussion: Who else accused the Russians of interfering? What has President Trump said about Russian hackers trying to influence voting? Has Russia been accused of hacking other nations’ elections? What are the United States or other countries doing to fight Russian vote hacking? Did the Russians succeed in causing doubt and strife in U.S. politics and our relations with our allies?
