Outside a giraffe is a long, furry body
Inside a giraffe is a pumping red heart.
Outside the dirt is a big, juicy bloom.
Inside the dirt are the roots of a flower.
Outside a tree are the moss and leaves.
Inside a tree is a busy, busy squirrel.

My Bird
My bird -- a king of a bird, sitting on eggs that are a pale blue.
When they are ready, out pops a yellow crowned night heron!
My bird -- a king of a bird, sitting in a fluffy nest made of sticks, twigs and moss.
He sings a little song while he is happy.
My bird -- a king of a bird, flying overhead,
And when he sees a fiddler crab, he swoops down and gulps it down.

I Thank the Earth
I thank the Earth for the beautiful sandy beaches,
Because without them I would not have nearly as much fun.
I thank the Earth for the clouds in the sky
That break apart and then morph back together.
I thank the Earth for all the animals,
Like duck-billed platypuses, humans, kangaroos and anteaters.
I thank the Earth for being my home.

I Believe
I believe that dogs should be allowed to go to school, if they are well behaved. I think every kid can bring in one dog, but if it is small, maybe you can bring in two. If some people brought dogs, then at lunchtime, we could walk the dogs over to the dog park. After lunch, we could all play with the dogs and feed them. There would be about five water bowls and ten food dishes. At reading time, we could all read to the dogs. At Halloween, we could make costumes for each dog. We could take the dogs to the dog beach at Fort DeSoto as one of our field trips. Dogs would be really great to have at school, if the teachers would allow it.

Happiness
Happiness looks like a meadow blooming with flowers.
Happiness smells like a pie fresh out of the oven.
Happiness tastes like a cupcake with sprinkles.
Happiness feels like drinking hot chocolate on a cold day,
sitting in front of a fireplace.
Happiness sounds like the calm music of a harp.
